DINE OUT WITH CHEF ANTHONY WELLS

huge long table of guests dining at a vineyard

The commitment from Beard-Nominated Chef Anthony Wells and his team to local sourcing & sustainability practices is both rare and admirable. We love when like-minded organizations acknowledge and celebrate the exceptional Chefs in our community for these practices, and organize entire movements and events around them! Chef feels fortunate to be participating in a few sustainability-focused dinners outside of the Juniper walls this year, and wants to invite you to join us in the celebration!

COMMUNITY TABLE

This beloved event brings a renowned chef to The Ecology Center farm to design an ecological meal around their four seasonal rotations (market garden, milpa, berries, cover crops). Chefs are given an opportunity to connect with new ingredients, find fresh inspiration in the Center’s bioregion’s historic foodways, and discover the rewards of relationship with the land.

BERRY GOOD FOOD’S “SEEDS FOR THE FUTURE”

Proceeds from the dinner will help fund school garden grants for the 2022-23 school year in San Diego County. Since 2017, BGF has awarded more than $50,000 in grants to 23 schools with garden programs. For the final dinner in their three part series, Chef Anthony Wells will be cooking alongside fellow neighbor and friend Chef Brian Redzikowski for an al fresco meal with seasonal and locally sourced ingredients at Aschbrenner Acres Farm in Encinitas.

OUTSTANDING IN THE FIELD

Outstanding in the Field was founded in 1999 as a radical alternative to the conventional dining experience. Rather than source ingredients for a restaurant, the restaurant is brought to the source.

This traveling celebration connects diners to the origins of their food while celebrating the hardworking hands that feed us: chefs, farmers, fisherpeople, cheesemakers, vintners, brewers and many more. The experience has welcomed some of the world’s most renowned chefs and culinary artisans to its roving restaurant that is rebuilt every morning and disappears every night. Together guests gather at one long table for a momentary experience and a joyful celebration of human connection around the most fundamental and universal human conversation: a meal.

WHEN: Sunday, 10/30
